U2

U2 was in Vancouver last night.  Juergen and I, Naomi & Erich and Jon & Bon all piled in the mini van and took in the concert together.  It was a lot of fun.

We saw a celebrity in the stands....well one well known around the lower mainland.  So this is "on stage" Al eh?

......FIVE FOR THE WEEKEND!

We agreed to stay with the kids so Naomi and Erich could get away....these are our weekend adventures:

Driving in the mini van.

Calvin is such a monkey.  The rest of the kids could care less but look on the left.

We took Konrad on his first bowling adventure.  All the kids loved it.  Konrad was so excited and he was good at the action of sliding...unfortunately it led to a few gutter balls but he took it in stride and was a good sport.  Ava dropped the ball and we all watched as it slowly...very slowly moved down the lane.  A few didn't even make it all the way and needed some help.

Here's some pictures from our fun in the park.  Calvin had just woken up and wasn't really in too good of a mood.

We are home safe and sound.  We made it through the weekend...phew!  We had a great time and look forward to more weekends with the kids.  At least when all is said and done we come home to a quiet house and a bed where only the alarm clock will wake us.  We have the best of both worlds.  Just the two of us again.

Dedication of Callie and October Harvest!

Just some pics from the weekend.  Sunday we were out in Chilliwack for the dedication of our beautiful little niece, Callie.  We pray that she is encouraged by those around her to follow Christ.  We look forward to this little girl growing into a Godly woman.

Pumpkin Harvest...or shall I say Punkin??

We went to choose "A" pumpkin and ended up harvesting all the pumpkins and gourds.  At least we got it all done for Mom & Dad....and we had some fun doing it.  The moment when Juergen felt like using a gourd as a snowball didn't last too long after the first target was hit!  Watch out, I'll get you next Juergen!

Just the two of us!

Earlier in the month we attempted to camping just the two of us.  We were not even halfway to Chilliwack on the Saturday when we had car problems and had to turn around.  We made the most of it and "camped" at home.  Not really though cause Juergen wasn't in to putting up the tent in the living room.

So this past weekend was our second attempt and we made it to Manning Park.

Juergen has tried to persuade me to join him in his interest to do a bit more "geocaching" and so this weekend we went on the search for treasure.

Behind this log lay the "cache".  It was fun to search with the GPS for the surprise.  I definitely plan on doing this more with Juergen.

I was amazed by the mushrooms, so many kinds and so different everywhere you turned.  Here's my favourite:

We cozied up to the fire for the evening and enjoyed the beauty of the stars.  It was a cold cold night and we froze but we made it through.  That's the last of camping for 2009.
